Open Source must do both functionality and features. It's true trixbox 'hijacked' code with its own packaging. But so what? There are others trying to fill the void (ie. PBX-in-a-flash).
FreePBX is the main web interface to asterisk and both of these are free as a bird.
Please do your research with other options before aggrandizing one single vendor from the huge OS community.
