I like it better than watching TV.

I do have Vonage (Basic 500). But sometimes, I do have problems with my Vonage phone adapter (V-Portal) not registering with the Vonage network. I had to struggle with my phone adapter to get it to work and sometimes, I have to change my setup like from Cable Modem -> V-Portal -> Router to Cable Modem -> Router -> V-Portal. In case I connect my V-Portal to my Linksys WRT54G router, I have QoS assigned to port 3, which my V-Portal connects to.
It could be Comcast blocking my phone service, as I get mail from Comcast about switching over to Comcast phone service about 2 to 3 weeks. But Comcast in Tallahassee (32304) does not have Basic 500 phone plan that costs about $15. As an addition to my Vonage phone service, I do have AT&T Pay-As-You-Go unlimited for 10 cents a minute for just $1 for 24 hours after first use. (For example, I call with my cell phone for 5 minutes on day 1 and did not use my cell phone for 5 days. That makes it up to $1.50.)
I don't talk a lot with my cell phone, though. I also don't talk a lot on my Vonage phone. But if I do have to make a phone call, like for cancelling my XM Radio subscription, I can use WebCapTel (either www.sprintcaptel.com or www.hamiltoncaptel.com, but I use Sprint). With my Vonage phone, I did not go over 100 to 100 minutes a month.
Now, if only Vonage has a Vonage 250 Ultra-Lite plan for $7.50... Or better yet, a pre-paid plan; however, that does not mean I'd just be switching over to Skype -- mostly invitees from sex chatters (I'm male, even though they want me to see me through a webcam using Windows Live messenger), even at highest privacy setting.
Thus, I"ve just dropped Skype and switched over to Vonage.
