demanding cloud-based apps?

I agree with you that users don't care where applications come from, so anyone -- enterprise or consumer -- won't necessarily demand cloud-based applications.

I think the important part of that OpSource point is that users *are* more and more used to going out and getting exactly what we want and need, whether it's shoes or a business app. That will lead to more and more pushback on the IT department if it tries to impose tools that seem unweildy, annoying or not useful.

We used to just grumble; now, we just ignore IT and use what we want.
