Some doubts on home health
I have a few doubts on the value of home health.

It is pretty much a gold mine for companies providing therapy and
medications to home bound patients, and there is little oversight on
what is needed.

If, say, a patient, is ordered therapy, but isn't gaining much, there is
still a therapist giong out to the house and billing.

And there will be some younger patients that get treatment in both
the school setting and at home.

While I am the last one to deny any patient care (I understand how
important it is) I believe that a lot of these patients would be better
taken care of with a "visitor" program. Non-professional staff
(working for less) who go and visit for a few hours and helping with
the shopping and cleaning. Some basic exercises (even walking in the
mall a bit) and some help. Might be far better than the nurse or
therapist that is limited in what can get accomplished.
