Patients worry about insurance abuse
and well they should.

Until people can elect to have a reasonably priced public
coverage there will be abuses by the insurance industry.
We're not enjoying the standards that the country enjoyed
in the 50's - technology has been used to exclude all
possible risks.

For me, I'm covered by both Medicate and VA now so I can
relax. For those at the mercy of the health insurance
companies there will be a valid resistance to increasing
additional health information that can lead to a policy
cancelation, or increase in fees.

Is it logical to put dollars ahead of health? Not really, but
in today's environment that is what has to be done for
many. Change the health insurance environment and EMR
can move forward with a lot more confidence.
