I'll go with the docs on this one
First look at the potential use of the data. You really need to
know the patient's age, sex and race as well as their medical
condition.

Then throw in the other medications that the patients may be
on, and the other drugs they may be on. Might also be helpful
to have any family history that the doctor takes into
consideration when prescribing, or their known financial
situation or the fact as for a generic prescription because of
their financial situation - or personal preference.

Just tracking doctors prescriptions alone does not provide
sufficient information to be of any use in determining the
benefits of any particular drug for a specific patient. That's
why it's nice to rely on a doctors training and something called
the "art of medicine".

Personally I hope that the Supreme Court goes with the right of
patient privacy and doctor-patient privacy over a company that
wants to make a buck. The only reality of their program is to
let drug companies know how good doctors are in prescribing
their drugs.
