Just don't let the insurance companies know
I can see a point in the future when medical
insurance companies will run one of these tests as
part of their acceptance procedures. Same with
life insurance companies. Maybe, like pre-existing
conditions, they need to be made illegal for
insurers to use.

As for the PSA, the diagnosis seems to be moving
to an earlier age. My father was diagnosed when
he was in his 70s and my PSA was 5.5 when I was
45. It took years to get a diagnosis as my tumor
was on the bottom tip of the prostate - not easily
found. Fortunately it was a slow growing cancer.

My urologist has found a few prostate cancers in
men in their 40s over the past few years. I now
believe that a base line test around 40 is wise, with
tests following every 4 to 5 years.
