How about using "OT" next to these stories?
OT for off-topic. Yes, story is interesting, and yes, not relevant to the main theme of this site. Still, in moderation, such stories add a bit of flavoring. Please, no politics or religion.

As for vitamins, the modern diet is so rich and varied I doubt it makes much, if any, difference if the typical person took ANY vitamin supplements. As for the different formulations, that's just Marketing 101--load the store shelves with variations of your own product, which increases the chances you will get the business and not somebody else. Same is as true for bread and cookies as it is for supplements.

I'm always surprised when I see all the variations on Glucosamine in the health section of a store when that substance has been shown to be of marginal value. People are like sheep, I guess, subject to the latest whims and fashion.
