VeriChip launches consumer campaign for ID chips
I think the general idea is great that in case of an emergency your medical records will be with you or at least easily accessible. That could save a lot of time if it tells the medical crew of any food or medicine allergies. But also raises the questions of how does the medical crew know of you have one of the chips implanted? How close do you have to be to read the chip? If its within 3 inches or so thats ok, but if the guy is about 3 feet away I can understand the security and identity concerns.
