Typical Diatribe of an Arrogant Modernist
If technology makes it possible then we should do it? Isn't that the argument for building the atomic bomb? Is the world a safer place because we thought it possible to build a bomb that could kill of thousands of people in an instant? Will the world be a safer place because we can create clones from skin cells? Haven't you seen the movie Gattaca? Is genetic manipulation really a good thing? What are the implications of the new eugenics that are possible with such advances? What if it gets into the hands of a madman? With great power comes great responsibility. Who is up for that responsibility? Shall we entrust it to people such as this ignoramus who rails against the straw man of fundamentalism to promote scientific progress without taking seriously the great potential for harm it entails?
