Seriously, if I had to base selecting a universal method of insurance on which carrier has had the most efficient system of physician reimbursement, I'd put my money on Medicare, any day.

Despite the long-term issues with Social Security funding 'waste, fraud, and abuse', and the confused choices that seniors now are confronted with, it was 5 years ago really a 'well-oiled machine' (14 day hold for electronic claims processing reimbursement to cutting a check).

If patients of all ages receive the same insurance treatment protocol as Medicare patients do, we would have 'socialized medicine' by default.

Medicare, sounds good. I like the ring to it. Medicare.
