they may not want their organizational data out there ...
... but it already is anyhow.

Organizations' social graph - much more than just their org chart ... - is neatly reflected in all the job titles, departmental information etc. you already find in abundance on social network servers all over the place.

My point merely is that it must be in any corporations best interest to have access to the same level of information on the inside that companies like Google or LinkedIn have gathered about them - and provide to everybody who wants to sell stuff.

Like it or not, the net knows plenty of things about us personally, and also about the environment we work in that we rather would not want to share with everybody else.

Making it usable to the same degree that Google can does not add more data. It merely makes available information usable, and levels the playing field again.

On another note we don't force anybody to publicise anything.
But have you not had plenty of occasions where you wanted to share your availability with somebody you wanted to meet? Or disclose documents in a smarter way than to just send them to 20 people via email? Or share your contact data without paying for such a service or getting no level of service for it?

Why would anybody find it ok to find everybody else and themselves on 123people.com, but not have the opportunity to make public data explicitly, and correctly available in up to date versions? We think the latter has been missing so far. That's why we built Social OX.
