I think that clearly the incentive for legal types is to write these sorts of customer agreements as broad as possible. clearly the new wording is far too broad but to say this shows some intention to take over or spy on customer's machines is going a bit overboard.

Comcast, regardless of what the customer agreement says, can't just go and spy on or modify a customer's personal property as I believe there are already laws on the books that would make this illegal.

If there is a big enough customer backlash and criticism hopefully we can get Comcast to change the wording.
