of one form or another to be installed on your PC. Comcast's wording was very deliberate. Make no mistake about it. ISP's want more control garnered from more information about your Internet life. This is also an attempt to sell your browsing habits without having to deal with DPI and the uproar it produced. They will have to install no new equipment. And they will also cut out third parties that have developed the DPI technology.
Anyone that believes Comcast's motives are anything but egregious is naive. This move by Comcast should be viewed in the very worst light imaginable.
ISP's are going to continue to try to produce as many new ways as possible to increase revenue streams from their networks, no matter how despicable they are. And Comcast is fast becoming the worst offender.
I truly hate government intervention into business. But it is time they intervene in the broadband/Internet market before ISP's suck the life and your privacy right out of it. Even if it means nationalizing it the way our Interstate system is controlled. The Internet is way too important to let it be ruled by greedy corporations that have only their good at heart with no care for the good of the public - individuals and our country as a whole. - Posted by: bjbrock Posted on: 04/03/09 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
