Adoption of Virtualization 2.0
I think a big part of the success of any technology is it's combination of cost/benefit/implementation. Virtualization (VMWare, Citrix Presentation Server (now XenApp), Hyper-V,etc...) success or failure will likely depend upon the cost of the solution. Many companies are looking for solutions to increase their ability to virtualize (Desktops, Applications, etc...) but will only do so if the cost seems worth the effort. Microsoft, Citrix, and VMWare need to realize that virtualization cannot cost companies "an arm and a leg" or companies will await some cheaper (OpenSource Virtualization ?) products that provide some value for reduced costs.
