Similar experiences to mac from windows
I tend to find that when i recommend a mac to someone they look at the price and question why? despite this I manage to convince them to get one. when they get it though I usually end up not being their favorite person for a week or two as they aren't used to it and get cranky about not being able to find the # key for instance, this wears off quickly though (when they adjust from using windows) and they soon come to love their mac and wouldn't have it any other way. My friends who choose to ignore my advice and get a vista laptop tend to be quite disappointed especially when they see the others love their new notebook so much. One thing that maybe helps the mac among my friends is that most off them aren't exactly computer fans (archeologists, business types, medical students) so they aren't that tightly tied to windows so there change was easier then computer ppl(for example I still have a windows virtual machine a few applications I like)
