OpenVMS is still alive and well
In our organization, our ERP systems are openVMS / VMScluster based. We also
have SOA projects in the works to supplement these systems.

OpenVMS is a reasonable host for JAVA based applications as well.

The reliability of the VMS cluster is hard to beat.

VMS style clustering offers much to the software developer, especially in terms of
a unified view of resources across the cluster, simple deployment, and single-
signon for users.

The security model is hard to beat as well.
