I went with something I can move to any car--that has a cup holder:

Since it swivels (landscape and portrait) you have the benefit of mounting and clamping more than one device, e.g., the BlackBerry, your Cellphone of choice, or say, a Nokia N800, if you are so inclined.

This works as advertised and the N800 with Maemo Mapper and Google Maps is great--oh sorry Russ; this is a BlackBerry blog. I forgot.
