Absurd.
This is such an obvious thing that it is totally nuts to apply a patent for. This only goes to show the whole absurdity of patenting software. I am sure there even may be prior art out there already. I thought of this years ago. To patent it? Give me a break.

I've already sent a complaint to the patent office asking them to reject this folly.
