Big correction
Alex Sotirov also partnered with Macaulay in 2008 to exploit a Windows Vista vulnerability.

It was not a Vista vulnerability, it was a Flash vulnerability. The only OS to fall in its out of the box (plus fully patched) configuration was OS X. Try as they might, no one could break into Vista (or Linux) in its out of the box fully patched configuration. On day 3, you were allowed to install popular 3rd party applications and it was only after installing Flash and taking advantage of a Flash vulnerability that the machine was PWNed. So it is incorrect to say it was a Vista vulnerability. It was a Flash vulnerability.
