It's not just the "Junk" hardware at Dell...

I have been reporting a mega-disaster with DELL equipment for 4 years! This is a TRUE story, it's mine! It goes to DELLS business model:

I'm a one person CAD shop. In 2003 I bought a $10,000. dual zeon 3.6GigHz (4 processors) RAID equipped work station not to mention all the extras.

While under warranty, the motherboard failed. They sent out a "DELL" technician to replace the board. This fat thumbed monster showed up and used a screw driver to remove the ZEON processors and in the process, it popped out of his thumb-clod hand and fell 4 feet onto a ceramic tile floor. He put it all together and to my disgust, it wouldn't even boot! I kept getting post errors about pin failures on processor 0. He immediately bailed out telling me the problem wasn't the MOBO!

What was DELLS response? GO AWAY! They wouldn't even answer my calls! This was brazen incompetence. My lawyer wanted an $8000.00 retainer and $350 per hour to go sue DELL. It was cheaper to build my own replacement.

A subsequent post mortum on the processors by a well known computer engineering firm revealed massive damage to the processor case and pins cause by a blunt edged instrument. It was all documented with clear blowups of the damage. I mailed a certified return receipt document to them and they refused to accept it.

What a great business model! Want frosting? How about that Techno-currie support of theirs... I'd rather talk to the toilet!

DELL? NEVER AGAIN! Same for the cow. (Another screw job) How they've fallen.
