RE: Will e-voting machines tilt the election?
First the reported problems are far more widespread than Tennessee and West Virginia. The e-voting systems are being reported as having the similar issues nationwide and even with different manufactures.

See http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6616

The behavior being reported is hardly the type of behavior we would associate with touch screen "calibration". These issues are such that they are indicative of either touch screens that are poorly engineered and completely faulty or have been programmed with algorithms calculated specifically with the intent of creating the appearance of malfunction so as to distract from election fraud.

I have been a Network Engineer for 14 years and I have never encountered touch screens (and I have worked with numerous makes and models) that have had such extreme issues across the board, even in manufacturing environments with very high level of magnetic and electrical interference.

It defies the imagination that someone ZDNet that claims to have a background in IT Security would try to minimize the implications of these issues.
