If you update your own DNS server before the TTL for the
cached information on other servers expires, that cached
information has become stale. So the basic idea was to
make sure as many servers had good information as
possible. The servers have no way of knowing the
information being sent to it is good or bad -- the
structure of DNS assumes "good intentions." This is
because DNS dates back to the days of the internet when
more people were trying to make it work than break it. I
