Most home users do *not* have a router...
and they are the largest number of systems exposed to the network. Corporate systems are already protected, and are likely not running Zone Alarm anyway.

For the home user Windows XP's firewall is less than secure -- it only protects against incoming traffic (does nothing to secure outgoing traffic) and doesn't allow anywhere near the granularity of control for which Zone Alarm is known.

In consideration of the fact that one vendor's (in this case MS) patch broke compatibility with another's (in this case, Checkpoint) application, the offending patch *should* be uninstalled until the fix is itself fixed.

Just my $0.02 USD.
