We block out going DNS, we also have alerts and traps set up to detect if a something it attempting to do this, and we have domain name blocking as well.

Now this practice isn't just good for DNS it's good for a lot of things. Blocking HTTP and HTTPS is also good and have people use a proxy server to get out. Monti tor for unauthorized port 80/443 traffic at the firewall.

Do the same with SMTP and POP and many others as well.
