More update follies
Do they test the update packages before rolling them out? What kind of testing protocol didn't catch that? And what else is slipping through their slipshod QA? Billions in revenue and that's the best they can do.

The last time every Windows box...including servers...got Desktop Search as a critical update. What a freaking nightmare that thing was, like Dracula. Every time you thought it was dead it would come back to life. The drive on this dev box would be chattering away...wtf? Desktop search is back. Had it set to MANUAL in the startup menu but somehow managed to turn itself back on.

This time I tried uninstalling it. We'll see how long that lasts.
