As EJHonda
was the first (of many, including myself) to point out, the version of Firefox shown in the slide-show that Ryan lifted from Will Dormann and Jason Rafail's article published a year an a half ago on CERT Coordination Center is no longer current. In my own first posting, I pointed out that the option to block cookies from all but the originating server is no longer available via Toolbar→Options→Privacy in Firefox 2.0.x versions ; indeed, from what I have been unable to determine, it cannot be accessed via the GUI at all, and the same holds true for Gran Paradiso 3.a6. There is, however, a way to set cookie preferences in these later versions by typing about:config in the navigator bar and scrolling down to network.cookie.cookieBehavior and changing the value for this Boolean string from the default ?0? to ?1?. (For those unfamiliar with this procedure, this can be done be right-clicking on the string, clicking Change on the dropdown menu, and then writing the cipher ?1? in the box and clicking OK). Presumably this will result in the same behaviour as following k12IT's suggestion to only allow the main site in NoScript (please correct me if I am in error here)....
