Like I'd trust one of these criminals with any machine! Least of all one with personal or business data on it. Better to strip it to the 'bare metal' and reload, start over.
I've never been infected, YET. But that doesn't mean it can't happen. But I'd certainly never allow one of these criminals into my machines to 'fix' that sort of problem.
