Devil's Triangles
As you point out, there is no conflict between Eric's triad of issues that influence project success/failure and my own Devil's Triangle.

I think the primary difference is that Eric's issues are project management related, where I try to examine the underlying relationship dynamics that lead to project management problems.

While not attempting to devalue project management techniques and analysis, very often issues such as scope creep, to use an example, get hidden in clouds of denial. So, my concern becomes figuring out ways to reveal, and make explicit, those factors that will cause failure but which remain unspoken.

Despite great methodologies and processes, failure rates remain high. I believe this situation arises from "distortions" -- politics, personal agendas, information silos, and so on. In a sense, Eric's triad identifies symptoms that lead to failure. My Devil's Triangle tries to focus on the underlying roots of disease.

Thanks for an insightful post.
