The press release isn't dead, it's evolving
It's just one ruling, albeit one that caused people to sit up and listen because the SEC is not usually thought of as progressive or flexible. The bad news for the "death of the press release" kids is that company news posted on a blog or website is still a press release, though now it's published on Web 2.0 infrastructure.

I'm not sure why it's so much fun to declare things dead. It's superficial and shows a lack of understanding of the complexities behind any issue.
