Choice

The whole point of Microsoft's offering is that it's software PLUS services, not software as a service which is what most people seem to be offering.

The Microsoft way, you get to decide whether a situation is better suited to a cloud solution or installed software. You get the best of both worlds.

I personally think Office is brilliant and use it on my home computer as well as my work one. But there was one occasion where I wanted to have a presentation online that I could access from different computers and edit online. I would have loved an Office option but I used Google Docs because it was the only choice at the time. I'm not going to uninstall Office when Web Apps come out, but I may find myself using them when the situation demands it.
