I agree with the availabilty.
As I stated, I'm not really for the movement towards cloud computing. I'm one of the ones that didn't like it when they shifted from command prompts to GUIs, so moving away from locally installed programs really doesn't sit well with me.

However, I was simply stating that the companies involved in the race to the cloud have viable reasons to favor this method over traditionally installed apps. From the user point of view, it is nothing but pain and headache if something goes wrong. Problem is, from both company and user point of view, if all is actually working well, then it is easier and more cost effective for both sides. This means in the companies eyes, and a large number of users eyes, that the benefits outweighs the pitfalls. You will find it very difficult to convince a company to abandon cloud computing if the majority favor it. And surprisingly, largely through good marketing, most do support it.

All I'm saying is brace yourself for it. Soon, it maybe possible that the only choice for office suites is cloud based. You can install your old local suites if you want, but likely they will drop support for them at some point to force you over to the cloud, or you run the risk of unsecure, and unsupported software. A chance some users are willing to take, but most companies generally aren't.

Let's just hope they see the light before it's too late.
