Seriously, I think MS and the robotics industry should focus on automation, and the projection of human intelligence into deployed machines - not try to make machines anywhere as smart as humans. E.g. it is probably better to have a nurse station where health care professionals can look in on patients and interact with them via robots - with the robots being controlled remotely by the nurses. Low level intelligence could be worked on in areas like locomotion (such as a robot navigating over rough terrain without arduous involvement by the robot operator). However the pursuit of high level intelligence in robots seems to me to be a grand waste of time - and something I believe to be unachievable.
