That's the only way it will get adopted....
As a developer of media content for the web I don't have a single one of my 300+ customer base showing any interest in Silverlight at all. I personally have never come across a single web site requiring it to view content, apart from Microsoft. If it's going to grab the level of market share that Flash has, it's going to have to be significantly better or what's the point. OK, some people may have been forced to download it to view the Olympics, but in reality I just don't see the demand at present. There's a saying; "If it aint broke, don't fix it." which seems to apply quite appropriately to this situation. And if I've missed some wonderful feature of Silverlight that I really ouight to be getting my customers excited about, then Microsoft aren't doing a very good job at selling it to me, is all I can say.
