The Live products keep getting better
I am a Microsoft programmer who does web and normal programming. The web programming tools are getting better and better. But, Popfly is an example of the way that the web can be used for both programming and for just fun. Popfly is one of the live tools, I think. The others would be Windows live mail and their blog tools.

With Visual Studio 2008 you can add in the Popfly services and share your applications with other developers and create some really cool web sites and have collaboration at the same time. For desktop developers you can use the Vista graphics engine and even create Silverlight applications.

The Expression Suite allows developers and desingers to work together and these tools are so much easier to use than anything Adobe has now or in the future. Adobe web tools are pretty much ad hoc and represent a media era long past.

Microsoft is also doing its own Avatar world and that world is another place you can probably use the Popfly tools in as well. If not there are probably going to be a large number of ways that business can use the space for advertising.

People hung up in web 2.0 are about to get exposed to a whole new web 3.0 and that web 3.0 is from Microsoft.
