I like Windows on my desktop but for the back end...
no thanks. The reasons aren't worth getting into but
for particular services, identity management
(ActiveDirectory) and RDBMS (SQL Server), going with
MS is fine.

Here's some food for thought, the telephone networks
by and large *NIX... when was the last time you
couldn't place a phone call because your telephony
provider was rebooting systems (or whatever).
