RE: A (Microsoft) Codename a day: Wringer
This is intended to be wryly humorous, don't be offended: Wringer is the 2010 superproject designed implement Microsoft's new business model. Software will be leased for annual fees. The new Microsoft business model will make PCs like TVs, and dealing with Microsoft will be like "dealing" with the Cable TV company. MS will lock up all your documents and files on your PC when you fail to renew your ever-escalating annual lease fees. Origin of the codename? MS plans to "wring" more money out of you every year.
