Gates is no prophet
He was smart enough, unlike Xerox, to recognize the value of the GUI, but he did miss the internet, missed search, thought PCs would never need more than 640K. You know, he's really missed some pretty big calls.

So it's a mixed bag. Who knows if he had to come back whether he'd make a good call or bad call.

Perhaps his saving grace of the years has been persistence, but he's no prophet.
