But it does confirm my long standing suspicion that Ballmer is unfit to be the president of a Fortune 500 corporation. Gates, as chairman, really should have been in the thick of the Yahoo acquisition decision making instead of leaving it all up to Ballmer. Merger and acquisition have to be vetted carefully to protect the interests of the stockholders and that's the board's job, not just the CEO's. If Ballmer can't stand to be overruled on something like that, then he should have been shown the door years ago.
