- Doubtful - IBM is going the wrong direction
-
IBM's products are still orientated for development on their large z/OS and VM\Linux systems - good solid systems but expensive.
If Booch was the MS architect he might have steered MS from a personal desktop company to a corporate computer company - the wrong direction (in my mind)
I think MS should have moved from the desktop philosophy towards web functionality several years ago. Vista should have been an integrated desktop<->web system.
I was encouraged by Ballmer's ""developers, developers, developers"" cry assuming this meant massive, free and open support for developers - but windows development still remains expensive and complicated.
Anyway - all conjecture (and they never asked me anyway).
I wish i knew things so black\white; good\bad as our ""irrelevant! Microsoft has never produced an original product."" - Posted by: bcarpent1228@... Posted on: 05/27/08 (Edited: 05/27/2008 @ 06:07) You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
