The bigger question
The bigger question is, why didn't Booch want the job? Not that Chief Scientist for Software Development at IBM is anything to sneeze at (far from it), but inquiring minds would love to know why the lack of apparent interest. [Besides the obvious one, having to work daily with Ballmer].
