Plan B is the only way.
Microsoft are in a mess, on many levels. The only way out is to do good work, under their own steam. Build something useful, that earns some respect. Do something better than other firms.
If they were to get involved with Yahoo, they'd sink a lot deeper into their current mire, and p off a lot of people on the way.
