Map Reduce, massive paralllel?

I understand I can store unlimited information, and use REST to store/retrieve that information. I suppose that the REST command will contain a SQL- or LINQ-like statement in one shape or another will be passed in the REST command.

The key piece of information that is missing is whether you can use parallelism to do quicker searches. Could I store a terrabyte of information on 100 machines with 10 GB each, and search them IN PARALLEL? The FAQ seems to imply something like that.

Probably, Microsoft will shield its developers/users from such technical issues, but it would certainly help to understand the speed that can be expected to achieve on SQL Server Data Services. It would also be nice to understand how MapReduce type of applications could run on this service.

I'm personally very interested in seeing if and how this service could help our offerings to store massive amounts of data. I've signed up for the beta, but perhaps you have better access to Microsoft.

Could you find out more about these aspects?
