Deja vu all over again
MS said this for years with the iPod until it began to seriously eat into MS
WMV/WMA distribution model. They tried Play For Sure, writing the software to let
other companies build the hardware. When that didn't work, they hung their
partners out to dry and made their own player.

MS is currently at the beginning of the Play For Sure stage with their response to
the iPhone.

I predict an MS-branded phone in two to three years.
