Another Microsoft Problem: faulty IE6 update
I'm not surprised to read this after what happened to me. When I tryed my new computer lately, I was asqued tu update IE5, and accepted. After I downloaded IE6, I had the "bad" idea to download and install only 1(one) update at a time, so I can more easily find the problem if one happened, by pure chance, to develop! Too bad for me, after the 1st update, I couldnot download further updates, or anything by the way. After searching the Microsoft knowledge base for "cannot download", I found that was due to a faulty update, and an alternative update was proposed. Too late for me, as I could not download it, I tried Firefox, Opera, to no use: the problem was extended to all browsers.

I could finally download after my son came back from holydays vacations and brought me IE7 on CD.

Why the known faulty update was never replaced by the other functional one? I guess the answer is, like for our goverments and for big companies, the whole thing is too big so communication between different levels is inefficient, or blocked at a level or another...
