Exactly the target market where piracy is rampant.
There goes M$ again, banging their collective heads against a brick wall in the hopes that something will work this time because the last 15 times were a failure.

They're targeting low income countries like South Africa, China, India, etc for rental schemes, exactly the kind of market where people would either buy it outright (companies), or pirate it. Whether they price it at 199 rand or 10.99 rand, the guys who don't want to pay will not rent it out.

I know this is the case in China where I visit often. You can get bootlegged DVD's for 10 yuan or 20 yuan, why the hell would you pay them per month?

They will never learn.
