Opt-out is a sad way to think...
This reminds me a bit of the Columbia Record Club. They send you 12 "free" albums, and then require you to opt out to keep from getting a bunch more that you'd never willingly buy.

So now the poor system admin has to install a "blocker" app to keep the folks on his system from running god-knows-what on their boxes. It sounds like the textbook definition of spam.

What's next? Chevrolet sending me new square tires, that automatically appear on my car in the morning? Putting on my pants and finding that plaid is the new thing? Coming home to my loving wife and finding Anne Heche?

Stop the madness. Let us decide what's going to be on our boxes, without using some kind of disguised "this is good for you" button.
