- How can you call a product "Live" when it's in beta?
-
Can you please explain to me how is this any different than gmailfs or ?Live Hotmail? for that matter.
Let's take a couple of things into account first.
1) You are talking to a computer professional(s).
2)I would like a technical explanation on what are the differences and/or the advantages?
3) You mentioned Google's Gdrive. Gdrive is the same technology with "infinite storage".
One advantage gmailfs have over Live Hotmail is
1) The end user have control of the filesystem. ie. encyption method and ssh connection to the host etc...

You are here pushing another ?M$ Live? product line, and you are coming across as someone very confused at (most of ) times. And you seldom if ever point out any technical merits.
?So get ready: Here comes Microsoft into the hosted storage space. I wonder what and when Google will launch as a response here? (beyond the anticipated Google Gdrive, that is.?
?Microsoft's positioning slogan for Live Folders: "Password-protected online file storage. Always available where you need it."
It's just re-branded technology. online storage to hosted storage.
Online/hosted storage technology is online/hosted storage technology!
Stop the re-branding!
? Hotmail e-mail service were originally rolled out in August 2005 and then re-branded to "Windows Live Mail" in November 2005.?
Some folks would like some technical details sometimes.
FYI: Big is relative, You don't know what's outside of the box if you are surrounded by Windows and Gates.
