In terms of flame wars it comes second after Windows/Mac/Linux shoot-outs. So what do you think?
As for end users, all they want is to be able to do is to keep reading their documents for years and years to come. The OOMXL trick of wrapping binary legacy formats as an object in an XML wrapper does not really cut the mustard.
