The way to customer choice and interoperability is a single good standard.
MS only wants to create confusion and compatibility problems with a second standard, that is way to complex and ambiguous. A good document standard is not rocket science, and there is no need for two.

Well, as we are talking about billions on the line here, MS will fight tooth and nail to at least slow adoption of ODF. And, remember who is paying those billions caused by the confusion.
